Both routes are valid. The right choice depends on franquicia eligibility, the vehicle's value and how much paperwork friction you can absorb.
When importing wins
- You qualify for the franquicia (savings €800–€5,000+).
- You own a car that costs more in Spain than abroad.
- You want a specific model rarely sold in Spain.
- You have time (4–12 weeks).
When buying wins
- No franquicia eligibility and origin is non-EU.
- You need the car immediately.
- You want Spanish dealer warranty.
- The car is RHD or lacks a COC.
